SXSW 2009 is approaching fast, and around this time, potential presenters collect their thoughts and come up with panels that would make for interesting discussion during the day. In true democratic fashion, the (registered) public votes on submitted panel ideas through the Interactive Panel Picker. Each panel idea falls under one category. The focus for this post will be Programming.
First of all, I’m very surprised that, of the relatively few panel submissions for Programming, none deal with writing Objective-C for iPhone apps. Perhaps they were placed in other categories, but they would’ve stood out more here. Oh well.
There are, however, some intriguing panel submissions around writing and maintaining scalable applications using cloud computing technologies, which is important for those who feel like they’re writing the next killer social networking app and need a way to scale it quickly (sarcasm). And of course, it wouldn’t be the Programming category without having panel submissions about JavaScript and AJAX.
Enjoy:
- Practical JavaScript Development with Mozilla Corporation’s John Resig (he has two submissions, but I’m going with this one)
- Unit Testing Back to Front: Prove it Works! with Gaia Online’s Jakob Heuser
- Beyond Agile (for Business Leaders) with Headspring Systems‘ Dustin Wells
- In the Cloud: Massively Parallel Computing for Everyone with OneSpot’s Mason Hale
